Civil War Sesquicentennial by Peter Rainey

A small group of members interested in researching the historic events that took place within LOW during the Battle of the Wilderness has been meeting informally for the past few months. Our next meeting will be at the Woods Center on Friday 24 September at 10:30 to noon. The agenda includes a progress report on the mapping of the roads and trails in use on May 6, 1864, establishing a list of charter members and election of officers.

Years ago, Civil war relics found at LOW were displayed in the Clubhouse, and plaques showing the location of the battle lines were displayed on Lakeview Parkway. We would like to restore those or similar memorials. Please join us if you are interested and willing to work on our various projects.
